Tip less Acrylic Nails. Perfect for Torn nails and Nail Biters!

Tip less Acrylic Nails, Perfect for Torn or Nail Biters Nail. Video Tutorial!

Sadly i tore my nail off completely,  i couldn't save it so i decided to do a Tutorial on a quick fix and Nail Biters nails. Just like my torn Nail, Nail biters have little or no free edge due to biting it away. It can be difficult to get Gels or Acrylic overlays when you are a nail biter. Tips are not really an option, they tend to break away easily. There's a lot of filing involved to get the tip to look natural and it can be very time consuming. Natural coloured tips are usually used and they have to be filed and blended, to disappear. If you get an inexperienced Nail Tech you can end up with file burns due to the amount of filing involved. I am all about less filing. Nails can become brittle, soft and weak from over filing. The nails become sensitive, sore and paper like. That's why a lot of ladies turned away from nail extensions in the end because their nails became so damaged and sore. Nail Bars were on every corner. First it was 1hr sets, the 45min sets. Everyone racing to get the nails done quicker, get more clients in the seats, cutting corners so they can get the client in and out. Poor hygiene standards used as well, poorly trained staff.  So the  nail biter end up being frowned upon  when making an appointment. The tech would just glue on the nails an put the overlay on with out taking the care the Nail Biter needed,  and within a week the nails would start to come off after spending €60 on the service. Some Nail Bars cut costs by only buying full well tips and White tips. So if you are a Nail Biter you cant have the white tip because they are not going to fit properly. The best way to treat the nail biter is Sculptured Nails. Less filing. Less hassle. So if you are a Nail Biter ask for Moulds or Sculptured Nails. Stay away from Tips. Ask the tech what methods and services they are using before making your apointment. If they suggests tips, WALK AWAY! Never let a Tech use an electric file on your natural nail. They should only be used on Acrylic and Gels.

I came across The Edge Nails Free Form Nails a couple of years ago. This is a fantastic way to get perfect nails in 30mins. Great if you are in a hurry and need to repair a Nail too. I am surprised that every Nail Bar hasn't ditched Nail Tips all together. So quick an easy. And more importantly No Filing!

You can get Salon results at home using these moulds. Log onto The Edge Nails website and you can order them there. Click on the video above to see these moulds in action.

OVER FILING. The nail plate becomes paper like, starts to  come away from the bed. Onycholysis. Can become infected as well. If it continues you can loose your nail.

  1. I really do like your blog....my older sister constantly bites her nails and complains that she doesn't have any nails to do anything with and of course I keep telling her over and over to just stop biting them, but she will never listen.
I just written an article myself on my beauty blog about acrylic nails....you can go check it out at: http://one-stopbeauty.com.
Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.
    Thank you
